Proverbs 52

1. Tomorrow is promised to no one;

live your best life today.

2. Success can be measured one day at a time:

Did you give your best to others?

Did you do your work with pride?

3. Take time each day to appreciate the people

around you

and give thanks for what you have.

4. If it is in your power to do good and help others,

don’t put it off;

stop what you are doing and lend a helping

hand.

5. Don’t get so caught up in any one thing

that you can’t make time for others.

6. Seek after truth;

when you find it, share it graciously

as you have opportunity.

7. Pay attention to the echoes of eternity

in your inner being.

8. Seek to do what is right;

learn to give second chances;

live with humility.

9. Allow mercy to guide your relationships

more than rule-keeping or self-justification.

10. If you have a choice between holding onto

anger or resentment

and forgiving another person,

always choose forgiveness.

11. The words of Scripture are trustworthy;

they make the soul wise.

12. Let the words of God speak to your heart;

let the words of Jesus speak to your heart;

let the words of Jesus transform your heart.

13. Treat all people with dignity and respect.

14. As far as it depends on you,

try to live at peace with those around you.

15. Your happiness and having the things you want

should not come at the cost of harm to

others.

16. Better to lose graciously

than to win at the cost of growing an

arrogant heart.

17. There is an emptiness in the human soul

that only God can fill.

18. There is an illness in the human soul

that only God can heal.

19. Don’t be in a hurry;

anxious hurry leads to mistakes and poor

decisions.

20. Slow down;

learn to accept and adjust to disruptions

and changes.

21. Learn to recognize when you are wrong

and seek to make things right.

22. Be willing to receive correction;

it will make you a better person.

23. Take time when you are young to seek after

God;

let God-wisdom guide your life.

24. Integrity counts;

be a person who is known for being

trustworthy.

25. Whenever possible,

leave things better than you found them.

26. Live as though how you treat others

has eternal consequences.

27. There’s more to life than just what we can see;

forces for good and evil contend for

territory and souls

in a moral universe.

28. Don’t let your anger

become a handhold for evil.

29. Let love have the final say

in all matters.

30. The footsteps of Jesus lead home–

a sure path for your feet.

31. There is freedom in Jesus;

be apprenticed to him and learn to live

freely and lightly

in his "unforced rhythms of grace."
