Proverbs 52
1. Tomorrow is promised to no one;
live your best life today.
2. Success can be measured one day at a time:
Did you give your best to others?
Did you do your work with pride?
3. Take time each day to appreciate the people
around you
and give thanks for what you have.
4. If it is in your power to do good and help others,
don’t put it off;
stop what you are doing and lend a helping
hand.
5. Don’t get so caught up in any one thing
that you can’t make time for others.
6. Seek after truth;
when you find it, share it graciously
as you have opportunity.
7. Pay attention to the echoes of eternity
in your inner being.
8. Seek to do what is right;
learn to give second chances;
live with humility.
9. Allow mercy to guide your relationships
more than rule-keeping or self-justification.
10. If you have a choice between holding onto
anger or resentment
and forgiving another person,
always choose forgiveness.
11. The words of Scripture are trustworthy;
they make the soul wise.
12. Let the words of God speak to your heart;
let the words of Jesus speak to your heart;
let the words of Jesus transform your heart.
13. Treat all people with dignity and respect.
14. As far as it depends on you,
try to live at peace with those around you.
15. Your happiness and having the things you want
should not come at the cost of harm to
others.
16. Better to lose graciously
than to win at the cost of growing an
arrogant heart.
17. There is an emptiness in the human soul
that only God can fill.
18. There is an illness in the human soul
that only God can heal.
19. Don’t be in a hurry;
anxious hurry leads to mistakes and poor
decisions.
20. Slow down;
learn to accept and adjust to disruptions
and changes.
21. Learn to recognize when you are wrong
and seek to make things right.
22. Be willing to receive correction;
it will make you a better person.
23. Take time when you are young to seek after
God;
let God-wisdom guide your life.
24. Integrity counts;
be a person who is known for being
trustworthy.
25. Whenever possible,
leave things better than you found them.
26. Live as though how you treat others
has eternal consequences.
27. There’s more to life than just what we can see;
forces for good and evil contend for
territory and souls
in a moral universe.
28. Don’t let your anger
become a handhold for evil.
29. Let love have the final say
in all matters.
30. The footsteps of Jesus lead home–
a sure path for your feet.
31. There is freedom in Jesus;
be apprenticed to him and learn to live
freely and lightly
in his "unforced rhythms of grace."
